Please note, the SHIPPING, WARRANTY and RETURN Policies contained on this page, may be subject to change at any time, without prior notice. It is assumed that your continued use of this site is your acceptance of these current policies in their entirety. Shipping is no longer inexpensive, especially with the increasing taxes and fuel costs and insurance, so it's difficult to offer a precise shipping charge, but we do the best we can.

Due to the unlimited dynamics of every order, it is just not possible to provide a precise shipping price on checkout on simple guess work, and we want to be fair to our customers.

The only way to do this, is to have the order already packaged, weighed, and insurance applied electronically, but that just isn't possible, unless we were to secondary "Bill" for the shipping portion separately.

Unless the customer requests other methods of shipping, we always opt for the least expensive based on service and speed,

So, our only alternative, is to provide an ESTIMATE based on the furthest distance from our location, within a common route, but this is not exactly precise.

Customers close to us, may get charged what seems to be an excessive shipping fee, and those in remote area's a really really cheap shipping fee, which is unfair to everyone.

Therefore, we really have only 2 options:

  1. Charge the "Estimated" shipping, and either refund the difference if actual shipping his lower than the estimate ( which is by far the most common ), and re-bill for shipping that is higher than the estimated shipping. This also ends up in a faster turn around.
  2. Or.... do NOT charge any shipping on Checkout, but once the order is ready to ship, send an invoice to the customer with the accurate shipping price, but this method usually ends up in a slightly slower turn around, depending upon when the final payment is made.

So, since we have always pre-estimated shipping in the past, we have decided to continue the process of ESTIMATING the shipping, and either surcharge (rare) or refund (most common) as necessary.

This system has worked fine for the 12+ years we have been in business, and will continue to use it for time being unless we can find a better method.

If you wish to "Pay By Phone", or e-Transfer ( Canada Only), these methods are available, and we can then provide a precise figure before payment is made.

All products manufactured by Motherlode Prospecting Supplies Ltd., have a 30 Day Replacement Warranty, against Manufacturers defects ( unless the product is sold specifically, as a defective product sale ).
  • In all cases, it is up to the customer to examine their purchase within a reasonable time of delivery, in order to check for shipping damage ( see below for policy on shipping damage ), and to test it out in order to identify any manufacturer defects that may affect the function of the product you purchased.
  • If you purchased your product from a Dealer, you are required to make your claims through the dealer you originally made your purchase through within 30 days of date of delivery or in store purchase, by phone or email.
  • If possible - only the "defective" parts will be replaced.

DAMAGED GOODS This Policy Is valid ONLY for items shipped from Motherlode Prospecting Supplies Ltd. If you made your purchase through an authorized dealer or other seller, you must contact them for assistance.
If you have received your order from us, and there has been shipping damage to the contents, you must CONTACT US IMMEDIATELY by phone or email / contact us form, to notify us of the problem. PLEASE DO NOT CONTACT THE SHIPPER DIRECTLY as we have to make the claim as per shipping insurance policy.

  • When your order arrives, look at the exterior of the box - is it damaged? If so, take pictures BEFORE opening.
  • If you open the package, and there is damage inside TAKE PICTURES as you remove the inner packaging and the items that show the damage to the packaging and the contents being claimed.
  • Replace all contents back into the original boxes and put aside
  • You will need to EMAIL your pictures and description of damage to us right away.
  • Please note, Motherlode Prospecting Supplies Ltd., accepts no liability for damage to any of it's products that have NOT been shipped by us - you must contact the business or person you purchased from.


Motherlode Prospecting Supplies Ltd. offers a 10 day Return policy, ONLY on sales generated from our site. We do not offer returns for products sold by our "Authorized" Dealers or others pretending to be dealers, or clandestine resellers.

  • No Returns will be accepted unless "PRE AUTHORIZED" by Motherlode Prospecting Supplies Ltd. as per this policy.
  • All returns of undamaged goods, must be unused and in their original packaging
  • All costs of returning undamaged goods will be born by the returnee.
  • There will be a 15% restocking fee on all returns that are pre-authorized, undeliverable or refused at time of delivery.
  • Any such refund of pre-authorized, undeliverable or refused orders will consist of product purchase and any associated taxes. Shipping costs are Non-Refundable"
  • Returns due to "Refusals" at the door of the recipient, will still be refunded. However, they will incur a 20% restocking fee, and customer will be responsible for ALL shipping shipping and other costs incurred due to such refusal.
  • No Refunds will issued until the return as been received by us in it's original packaging, and in condition stated in this policy, with exception of special circumstances as discussed by one of our Agents.
  • We cannot accept Returns beyond 30 days of "Delivery".
